The network of southern German dance initiatives and artists' associations, first structurally manifested as a cooperation in 2022 by Tanztendenz München and Tanzzentrale der Region Nürnberg and growing steadily since then, is entering its fourth round this year (- and we are part of it)!
With now six alliance partners in two federal states - Tanztendenz e.V., Tanzzentrale der Region Nürnberg e.V. and CONdance e.V. Bamberg in Bavaria as well as EinTanzHaus e.V. and Schwindelfrei Festival in Mannheim, Tanznetz Freiburg gUG and Produktionzentrum Tanz + Performance e.V. Stuttgart - the focus this year is once again on exchange and networking between the cooperating institutions, but above all the artists working there.
A total of six 7- to 10-day residencies will be realized in the six partner cities, enriching the local scenes with workshops, trainings and public showings, sharings or lecture demonstrations.
In addition, there will be a series of conferences and symposia at which relevant topics of the (southern German) independent dance scene will be discussed and knowledge can be shared and passed on within peer groups. As the crowning finale, a networking event will be organized on 22 and 23 November in one of the partner cities, where, in addition to the day's programme with talks, discussion rounds and further training opportunities, there will above all be plenty of space to get to know each other personally and exchange ideas. Residency periods:
Munich: between 01 and 18 July 2025
Nuremberg: between 01. and 17.08.2025
Stuttgart: between 11 and 24 August 2025
Bamberg: between 25.08. and 07.09.2025
Freiburg: between 15 and 28 September 2025
Mannheim: between 06 and 19 October 2025
The exact residency period will be agreed individually between the residency locations and selected artists.
Application procedure:
Applications are open to dance professionals whose work focuses on one of the participating cities. Applications must be submitted via the application form
Each applicant can apply for a maximum of two locations, excluding their own hometown. Please indicate prioritization by naming them in the appropriate order (e.g. Nuremberg, Bamberg: both locations are of interest, Nuremberg more so than Bamberg)
