From 6 - 9 September 2022, the SEEDS Lab 2022 will take place for the fifth time this year at the Produktionszentrum Tanz + Performance.
This year we are once again offering an exciting programme with a workshop, dance lab and show: We are delighted to have the Stuttgart collective backsteinhaus produktion (Nicki Liszta, Heiko Giehring, Isabelle Gatterburg) at the production centre for a 3-day dance lab. As part of a workshop, the choreographers will pass on their choreographic approaches and ideas to professional dancers. At the end of the dance lab, there will be a public show with an audience on
Friday, 09.09. at 7 pm in the Produktionszentrum Tanz + Performance, where the results of the dance lab will be presented in a performance.
As a SEEDS prelude, there will be a workshop on Tuesday with Katherina Walbrecht to familiarise participants with dynamic movement theory according to the Franklin Method® for dance.

Franklin Method’ workshop with Katherina Walbrecht
Dynamic movement theory according to the Franklin Method® for dance
Every quality of movement depends on the quality of our perception of that movement. If it corresponds to its structure, we can release undreamt-of forces and make the body heal itself. Over the course of a lifetime, each person develops unique postural patterns and their own repertoire of movements. Some of these are beneficial for what we do, others are rather unfavourable or prevent us from fully exploiting our potential. In dance, too, we are often taught unfavourable posture and movement patterns, which can have a long-term or short-term unfavourable effect on the body system and thus lead to overloading and injuries. However, instead of instructing the body to behave in a purely intellectual way and prescribing exercises like pills, the Franklin Method® creates a dialogue with the body through experiencing, sensing, recognising and accompanying through imagination.
The Franklin Method® is currently the only comprehensive training approach that offers participants and students a systematic approach to learning and using images in sport, dance and everyday life. The key to lasting change is our imagination.

backsteinhaus production
The individual and recognisable signature of backsteinhaus produktion is the creation of absurd worlds with an authentic, real aesthetic. The works with their idiosyncratic and interdisciplinary formal language are located at the interface between contemporary dance and theatre. Whether in the black box or in the development of spaces far removed from the theatre, ‘backsteinhaus produktion’ creates emotionally immersive dance theatre that illuminates and questions our society.
