Eva Baumann

Eva Baumann studied classical and contemporary dance at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt/Main and choreography at the Hogeschool vor Muziek en Dans in Rotterdam, Codarts.

She began her artistic career in the Netherlands, where she realized her first pieces in co-production with the Korzo Theatre in The Hague and Dansateliers Rotterdam. In 2006 she made her debut with the solo mutterseelenallein for the CaDans Festival in The Hague.

As a dancer, Eva Baumann has worked throughout Europe with choreographers such as Sjoerd Vreugdenhil, Cora Bos-Kroese, Katie Duck/Magpie Music Dance Company, Colette Sadler, Vincent Dunoyer/Rosas, Anna Kubelík/Akemi Nagao. In 2011 she was an apprentice at the Forsythe Company in Frankfurt am Main.

Since 2012, she has focused on her own choreographic and interdisciplinary work. To date, she has created several full-length dance productions as well as short pieces and commissioned works. Her first production made in Stuttgart, solitaire, was nominated for the Stuttgart Dance and Theatre Prize.

Her work has been shown across Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Lithuania and Ireland and she has been invited to several festivals/theatres and art spaces.

In 2018, she was nominated as Choreographer of the Year in the TANZ magazine for her performance #herland.

In 2008 she received a scholarship by the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation. In 2015 she was a resident artist at the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and in 2021 and 2023 at Dance Limerick in Ireland.

In 2024 she is a fellow at Künstlerhaus Ahrenshoop at the Baltic Sea.

Since July 2022 she operates under Cie. ZEIT/GEIST as the umbrella for future works.
