The Stuttgart Flamenco Festival was founded in 2010 by dancers and choreographers Catarina Mora and Miguel Ángel. Since then, the festival has been held annually and has firmly established itself in the first week of the Baden-Württemberg summer holidays. Since 2020, it has been included in the City of Stuttgart's institutional funding programme. The festival brings performances by companies from Spain, the legendary ‘Gala Flamenca’ and the evening of the ‘flamenquitos©’ to the theatre stage. This will be followed by 6 days of workshops and smaller events centred around the theme of flamenco. Over a period of 8 days, flamenco is experienced, organised and perceived in a tightly bundled way.
