“en corps” (French for “in the body”) celebrates the wisdom of the ageing female body in the liminalspacebetween abstraction and narration, between youth and old age. The research is inspired bythe mythologyof Hecate, who is regarded in various cultures as a goddess of transformation andis depicted in tripleform as a maiden, a mature and independent woman, and an old wise woman.

During the residency, Eva and her team will immerse themselves in this mythological history andexplorehow it could be transformed into a contemporary stage figure. One of the starting pointsfor theirresearch is the sculptural miniature of the body dis_figured (2024/2025).

Eva will investigate how this movement material can be further developed choreographically andvisually,exploring the tension between becoming and passing away. During the residency, Evelienvan denBroek will work on establishing an underlying sonic atmosphere.
