Overhead Project’s circus-choreographic works deconstruct what lies between two bodies, between people. Togetherness meets repulsion, height meets falling, and provocation meets trust. How do our possibilities change when we encounter our counterpart? How can we push the boundaries of falling, catching, and getting back up? The workshop focuses on the core principles of the company’s dance-acrobatic partner work. The workshop will be led by Tim Behren and Florian Patschovsky.

Tim Behren works as a choreographer and performer and is the artistic director of the Overhead Project label in Cologne and Tübingen. He discovered contemporary dance while studying at the ESAC Circus Academy in Brussels (B). He later broadened his perspective at the Centre National des Arts du Cirque in Châlons-en-Champagne (France). In addition to his choreographic work in the independent scene, he also regularly works as a guest choreographer at municipal theaters. He serves as an outside eye for circus and dance companies and is a student coach and freelance lecturer for the Master’s program in Choreography at Tilburg University (Netherlands).

Florian Patschovsky began as a self-taught artist and worked early on in various Nouveau Cirque groups; among others, at the Cologne-based association Atemzug e.V., he was part of several productions and worked with the aerial dance ensemble Angels.
