SAVE THE DATE for this year's SEEDS dance lab from 08.09. - 12.09.2025!

This year, Karolin Stächele, the artistic director of the independent ensemble DAGADA dance, and the musician, dancer and actor Simon Wehrli will meet for the first time. During the 5-day workshop, the choreographers will share their approaches and ideas with professional dancers from Stuttgart and the region, creating an exciting exchange between the two artists as well as with the participating dancers.

"Based on an in-depth exploration of a selected piece of music, Karolin and Simon discover different choreographic approaches together with the participants. How do we want to relate to the music? In space, in the body, in feeling? Choreography and music should meet at eye and ear level."

Guest choreographers

Karolin Stächele (Freiburg) has been creating full-length pieces for various spaces and stages under the label DAGADA dance since 2014. Based in Freiburg, she works with a dynamic group of artists from different genres and develops a repertoire that includes both solo and group performances. In an open, participatory artistic discourse, she choreographs a pulsating dance language that always refers to the social change surrounding her. The company has presented its work nationally and internationally, including in Berlin, Leipzig, Basel (CH), Haarlem, The Hague (NL), Brest (FR), Barcelona (ES) and Prague (CZ).
Karolin was co-founder and active member of tanznetzIfreiburg (2018-2022). Since September 2021 she is co-director of the education programmes at bewegungs-art freiburg.

"My work is loud and tender, it seduces and confronts, it challenges by not being content to please, but daring to explore the raw and uncomfortable - that which lies hidden deep within us all and is part of us."
