“People always want to develop further, but at the same time they are afraid of change... Do animals grow or do they run in circles? What could it mean for a woman to have to endure two or three caterpillars if she wants to get to know butterflies? And for a man? And for a little prince? Each of you has an opinion on this. That doesn't necessarily make it good.”
Shedding shapes is a solo, a handmade, body-made, voice-made dance theater piece by Daura Hernández García, developed together with dancer Lilly Bendl. During the last months of Lilly's pregnancy, they asked each other questions, reflected and discussed. How do we feel change? How do we react to change?
Concept & choreography: Daura Hernández García
Co-creation & dance: Lilly Bendl
