“Tous sur la banquise” (“Everyone on the Ice Floe”) is dedicated to the life of emperor penguins and to climate change, which threatens their existence—and ultimately our own. Starting from the unique social behaviour of these animals, we turn to examine our own society and its structures: in the penguins, we search for a form of humanity that seems to be disappearing in our time. They reflect what defines us as human beings—and what we may be giving up voluntarily.

The piece combines dance, music, language, and scenography. It moves within a tension between a concrete representation of animal life on the one hand and an abstract interpretation through movement, text, and sound on the other. In this way, a wide interpretative space is created, opening up questions about how the human body responds to the challenges of our present time.
