Workshop mit Ann-Charlotte Günzel

Über die eigene künstlerische Arbeit sprechen – Sprache, Positionierung und Vermittlung

  • Wed, 02.12.2026

  • Produktionszentrum Tanz + Performance

How can we put our own artistic work into words? How can artistic processes, performative practices and aesthetic approaches be communicated in ways that make them understandable and accessible without losing their complexity?

In this practical in-person workshop, we will explore how storytelling can help communicate artistic ideas, working methods and projects clearly and convincingly to different audiences. Through concrete examples and practical exercises, we will develop key messages and wording for participants’ own projects. We will look at both fundamental questions of positioning and storytelling and their practical application across different communication formats – from personal websites and announcement texts to press work and funding applications.

Participants are invited to bring their own projects, texts and questions to develop further during the workshop.

Who is this workshop for?

The workshop is aimed at freelance artists working in dance, performance and theatre who have already received project funding, are planning to apply for funding, or are currently working on a specific project or planning one. Having existing project funding is not a requirement for participation.

The workshop is funded by the Cultural Office of the City of Stuttgart. It is part of a two-part workshop series designed to support freelance artists in communicating their artistic work and vision clearly and effectively. From describing their artistic practice and developing compelling texts for funding applications to communicating authentically via social media and other digital channels, the workshops focus on practical approaches to increasing the visibility of their work and reaching different audiences.
