Stephanie Roser completed her training in contemporary dance in Berlin between 2005 and 2008 and has continued her professional development through numerous workshops both in Germany and abroad.
Since then, she has worked primarily as a dancer in the fields of contemporary dance and dance theatre, for example with INTER-ACTIONS Dance Company / Edan Gorlicki, PLAN MEE / Eva Borrmann, BLOMST / Nina Kurzeja, SETanztheater / Sebastian Eilers, Tanztheater Katja Erdmann-Rajski, Daura Hernandez-Garcia, Co>Labs and many others.
She has also appeared in the fields of opera (e.g. Nuremberg State Opera, Bregenz Festival, Stuttgart State Opera) and installation art (e.g. Sasha Waltz & Guests / ZKM Karlsruhe).
She has choreographed for dance students, theatre and youth companies, as well as several solos that were nominated for international solo competitions in Stuttgart, Gdańsk and Erfurt.
Most recently, she produced the dance short film “WOOD” with filmmaker Boris Laible and, with percussionist Vanessa Porter, the piece “Capture” by Jennifer Walshe for the ECLAT Festival for New Music in Stuttgart.
Since 2016, she has been working closely with director Daniela Aue and performer Lukas Aue as part of the Spiel.Werk / Aue-Roser-Aue collective.
Over the past 10 years, they have created numerous productions that blend dance, mime, contemporary circus and drama. At the Wasserburg Theatre Festival, they received the Performer’s Award in 2019 and the Audience Award in 2023.
From 2017 to 2020, she was part of the founding team of the permanent venue ‘Spiel.Werk’, a theatre space with a regular programme of performances housed in the premises of a former bakery. As a dance teacher, she gained valuable experience working on projects with underage refugees (Labyrinth Stuttgart) and school classes (Festspielhaus Baden-Baden “Impuls”, Chance tanz Nuremberg, among others), and has frequently provided dance training for amateurs, dance students and professionals.
