Intensive Training Contemporary Dance
The focus of the class is to build optimal movement patterns for our body, using the minimum effort to maximize our possibilities.
The classes start with an improvisation/meditation in movement to connect with yourself, your colleagues, the space and the state that you are in at that moment. I like to start the classes by remembering the joy that dance brings to us and reminding the participants to trust that our bodies store the wisdom that we need. Then the class proceeds with a simple warm up, in this week we will alternate between floor work and partnering/contact for this section, during this time we will get our bodies heated up and ready for action and remember some basic physical principles. The class culminates with a phrase, with more difficult coordination and acrobatic elements.
