Stephanie Roser

Stephanie teaches a class based on modern and contemporary dance technique, consisting largely of set sequences supplemented by guided improvisational exercises.

She begins on the floor (floorwork), then moves on to standing work, and the class becomes increasingly dynamic as it progresses – moving in and out of the floor and across the room.

In the short improvisations, which are interspersed between the combinations to a greater or lesser extent depending on the session, she first creates opportunities for body and spatial awareness. Later, these exercises serve to activate the muscles and to explore and develop various principles or qualities of movement.

In the set sequences, the focus is on technical training, movement variation and musicality. Imagination, analysis, range of motion and perception serve as inspiration for the repetitions.

The main focus of her training is on working on release, range of motion, directions, dynamics, focus, space and musicality.
