We’re celebrating—come celebrate with us!

We want to celebrate our association’s 10th anniversary with a day full of visions and ideas for dance and the performing arts:

The event kicks off at 2.30 pm with two workshops on the theme “Dance Visions.” Professor Dieter Heitkamp, head of the Contemporary and Classical Dance Department at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, and Johannes Milla, president of the Produktionszentrum Tanz + Performance association and managing director of the Milla & Partner agency, will lead the workshops. At 5.00 pm, participants will present and discuss the results of the workshops in a plenary session. At 8.00 pm, the event continues with an anniversary gala. Choreographers and dancers will present excerpts from current productions. The evening will conclude with a celebration.

All artists and cultural professionals, dance enthusiasts, and friends of the Produktionszentrum Tanz + Performance are cordially invited to both the workshops and the gala.

Presentation of the workshop results in a plenary session, followed by drinks and refreshments

8.00 pm: Anniversary Gala
Choreographers and dancers will perform excerpts from their current works

GALA PROGRAM

MAD WOMAN'S VISION
"Mad Woman's Vision" explores the tension between sound and emotion. This sound project aims to pose questions that each person can answer for themselves. The event itself offers one possible answer. “What you feel is enough—more than what you know.” Under this motto, a space is created for the freedom to define one’s own place.

I AM WHAT I AM

Yana Novakowa embodies the statement “I am what I am.” The theme of this experimental installation, limited to 20 minutes, is the question of the subject’s adaptability.

READING THE SKIN
"I would like to read my skin to you. For songs are written there that I love to sing."
Songs create a choreography; they fill characters with emotions. Emotions lead to movements; movements create spaces. The skin, the dress, the shell.

KING OR NOTHING
Excerpt from the production. The project "Macbeth-Room/ King or Nothing" premieres on November 11, 2011, at the Theater Rampe.

"King or Nothing" is the second part of a double-bill featuring "Macbeth-Room" by TARTproduktion, directed by Bernhard M. Eusterschulte and Nina Kurzeja.

In this excerpt, the performers move through a kind of play structure and observe Macbeth, who—after murder and intrigue—is finally king. He is determined to maintain this status quo at any cost. Often pushed to the limits of his own mental strength, he operates in this state of strain, only to ultimately fail.

ICHEN
Excerpt from Christine Chu's full-length solo "Ichen"

What does personality mean, and where does a person derive their identity from? Drawing on autobiographical themes, Christine Chu explores “the core of being”—both as a performer on stage and as a private individual. Key questions include: How private can I actually be on stage? How many different characters can I credibly embody? What constitutes the core of my personality? To what extent is the person watching me on my journey also involved in the creation of my identity?
