As part of the transdisciplinary festival CURRENT - KUNST UND URBANER RAUM from 26.06. - 27.07.2025, which in its third festival edition deals with "air" in all its social, political, ecological and material forms, Paco Ladrón de Guevara will present his piece "Autopsy of a Soft Wreck/BBY CNT U SEE?" on 04.07. and 05.07.2025.

In his performance Paco Ladrón de Guevara examines the accident, collision and crash as a moment of suspension. At the central traffic junction Österreichischer Platz, where tunnels, ramps and elevated highways converge, the work treats the accident as an everyday occasion — as a metaphor, both for failure and for a kind of lightness. Beyond fixed structures and somewhere between the outer and inner shattering — new possibilities of being are explored. The impact, as part of the crash, is not understood as the endpoint, but as an opportunity for transformation, adaptation and retrospection. A broken body allows one to be more flexible, adapt to every surface and every circumstance. Dreams, goals and expectations are thrown aside and left to drift in the middle of nowhere.

Autopsy of a Soft Wreck, like other works by Paco Ladrón de Guevara, addresses the deconstruction of ideals of success and the search for fluid identities in precarious spaces.
