Dance solo about an avatar's journey through time from the future

A highly developed human being from the future travels back in time as an avatar in a virtual reality. Johannes Blattner, in collaboration with dancer Elias Bäckebjörk, asks questions about the present and the future: How do we want to be perceived? What will remain of our history? What would be a reason for people of the future to travel back in time?


»Steinhaut« // Eva Schmeckenbecher
The object consists of countless individually peeled-off layers of photos. The motifs come from the wall of Les Baumettes prison in Marseille. Hidden dancers beneath the photo skin make it seem to breathe; it crackles, moves, rotates, arches, and turns until the bottom is turned upside down.
