The workspace series, initiated by members of the Produktionszentrum, gives artists the opportunity to showcase the current state of their work. Whether it’s an installation, live music, or lobby furnishings—on this evening, many elements serve as partners in artistic dialogue. Through an exploration of movement, objects, and sounds, diverse improvisational formats drawing on contemporary dance and performance art emerge before the audience’s eyes—composing a unique evening.

The 6th showroom is curated and hosted by artists and Produktionszentrum members Petra Stransky and Lisa Thomas. It is important to them to provide a platform for improvisation as a stylistic device, technique, and artistic stage format. The participating performers are members of the Produktionszentrum and guests.

The Insectoid Interventions draw inspiration from the fascinating world of insects, which constantly surround us with their shimmering, fluttering, and buzzing presence. Based on observations of the movements of these insects—whose otherness and strangeness evoke not only irritation and fear but also enthusiasm—and on Viktor Pelevin’s text “The World of Insects,” performative interventions take shape.

“Material, Time, Space”

For two weeks, Helga Kellerer’s installation served as a platform for research on the theme “Interaction between Body, Movement, Material, Time, and Space.” On June 7, preliminary results were presented at Open Studio II at the Kunstverein Neuhausen. An excerpt from this work will be shown today in a second, reimagined performance. The audience will participate in the continuation of the process in a new space.

The dancer and the cellist meet for a blind date on stage. Neither of them knows the other, nor do they know what kind of dance-and-music dialogue they will engage in. Pure improvisation!

Her Space

Where is her place? In an imaginary room, on a 2-meter-wide canvas lying on the floor and unfurling to a length of 10 meters. This is the arena, the dance floor. This canvas is painted with color. The painting follows the dancer’s footsteps. It fills the space she dances in. It gets crowded. And in the end, what is left for her?

A choreographic radio play that focuses on the viewer’s imagination. A pas de trois with unknowns. In 'parabol', Claudia Senoner and Anja Füsti explore the reduction of sound and movement, the de-volumization of instruments and voices, and the interplay with mirror neurons. Does dance even depend on a body?

Instant Composition is the art of choreographing dance in the moment. The four dancers, the musician, and the video artist create, compose, and perform simultaneously, bringing a unique piece to life on stage.
