The TanzPulsSüd network has been working since 2022 to strengthen the independent dance scenes in southern Germany. At this year’s network meeting, we want to explore together with cultural policymakers, representatives of municipal cultural administrations, and practitioners from dance initiatives and associations how sustainable perspectives for art and culture can be secured. Through discussions on current challenges and best-practice examples, we aim to develop strategies that enable long-term stable structures in cultural funding and strengthen new forms of collaboration across different levels and hierarchies.

PROGRAMME

2.00 – 3.00 pm

Keynote impulse and facilitated discussion with Ina Rosenthal:
“Staying Here Means Being Heard”
For and with representatives of the network, municipal cultural administrations, politics, and relevant associations

The ambitious goal of this format is to foster genuine solidarity between representatives of the independent dance scenes and those from politics and administration — so that visibility, recognition, and sustainable funding structures for the dance scene in southern Germany can truly grow. The festival motto “Staying Here” could hardly be more fitting: it frames staying as a political practice — asking what is needed to ensure that artistic work in southern Germany has a reliable future.

4.00 – 5.00 pm

Keynote lecture by Hannah Ma (United Networks):
“STAYING HERE – Aura Weaving”
Open to the public

The impulse STAYING HERE – Aura Weaving moves between performance, ritual, and political practice, engaging with decolonial perspectives, memory, and current processes of exclusion and displacement. Drawing from her artistic practice, Hannah Ma describes the body as an archive — a site of history, migration, loss, and resistance. “Staying Here”becomes a question of space, belonging, and the possibility of weaving together energies and creating and sustaining collective spaces despite experiences of pressure, violence, and exclusion.
