When everything is public, what remains private? Hasn’t the disclosure of private—even intimate—matters long since become the social norm? Juliette Villemin & Team’s dance theater explores questions like these through dance and its movement vocabulary. Five performers, representing five generations, set out on a quest to uncover clues and, guided by the groove of a drum—both gentle and powerful—explore the relationship between the public and the private through movement.

INTIMACY is the opening production of a multi-part project series in which the company Juliette Villemin & Team, in cooperation with TARTproduktion, examines the relationship between the public and the private from various perspectives. For this research project, the company has received a three-year conceptual development grant from LaFT BW, funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research, and the Arts.
