Where do we stand today in terms of our image
of man, whom Oskar Schlemmer reexamined in 1922 in the field of tension between mechanisation and belief in progress? How do we perceive the relationship between dependency and freedom
in the digital age, which is shown in the “Triadic Ballet” in the relationship between movement and restricted movement, or in the merging of body and costume? And how visionary must art be in times of social upheaval? Taking the utopian po- tential of the Triadic Ballet as their starting point, the festival’s productions explore these current and historical questions. Exactly 100 years after the premiere of the Triadic Ballet on 30 September 1922, we are once again moved by Schlemmer!
