Bar Gonen was born in 1994 in Tel Aviv. She started her professional career as a contemporary dancer in 2015 in Israel, working with choreographers Sharon Vazanna and Maya Brinner. Simultaneously she studied the Ilan Lev Method (ILM) and currently she is an active certified therapist beside her work as a dancer. In 2019 she graduated from Performact (Torres Vedras, Portugal). During her studies, Bar started to develop her own work. Two of her solo works, “Welcome Home” and “Steaming SensingStream”, were afterwards presented in different theaters and festivals around Portugal, Spain and The Netherlands. Since 2019 Bar has been working as a freelance dancer based in Germany. She is involved in different productions with choreographers such as Smadar Goshen, Berliner Ensemble (Ted Stoffer), Maura Morales, Joachim Schloemer, Eva Baumann and more. In 2022 Bar worked together with Crispin Bade on the duet “Acoustic Resonance” that premiered in the Circus Dance Festival in Cologne and in 2023 Bar created “Elusive Matter”- a short solo for Solo Choreo Stuttgart.
